Global action on climate change starts locally! Rise to the challenge by participating in the Boulder 350 Global Work Party on 10/10/10 (October 10, 2010), this year’s biggest day of international action to cut carbon emissions. Attend hands-on carbon-reduction workshops and discussions and join in on field trips to reduce your carbon footprint and help address the serious problem of climate change we all face. All members of the Boulder community, including kids, teens, students and adults, are invited to participate.
Events line-up:
9am to 11am – Morning workshops at Naropa University’s Arapahoe Campus
11am to 11:30am – Youth “I Matter March” from Naropa’s Arapahoe Campus to the University Memorial Center at CU Boulder.
11:30am to 12pm- Live international music at the fountain plaza next to the University Memorial Center at CU Boulder. Bring a picnic lunch!
11:30am to 5:30 pm – Sponsorship expo at the Arcade by the fountain plaza next to the Univerrsity Memorial Center at CU Boulder. Come find out more about the great products and services offered by our sponsors!
12pm to 12:45pm - Short, inspirational speeches from leading community climate change advocates, including Hunter Lovins, President and Founder of Natural Capitalism Solutions, and Jonathan Koehn, Regional Sustainability Coordinator at the City of Boulder, and youth from Earth Guardians.
1pm to 5:30 pm – Over 15 carbon-footprint reduction workshops hosted by local organizations held at the University Memorial Center at CU Boulder. Most workshops are free of charge and all are open to the public.
